Cycled in to Oturehua from Clyde, and just a little way north and on the right hand side of the trail sits the oasis of Marchburn Country Lodge. Our reservation being made by Cycle Surgery. We were welcomd on arrival by our hosts Graeme and Donna with a nice ice cold drink and shown to our guest room and the guest lounge, both were very roomy, and having nice rural outlook over the Mt Ida ranges etc. The lounge was ours and it was well stocked with a wide range of books and some nice artworks. There was a covered veranda available with very comfortable outdoor seating with comfy cushions. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was well able to handle our opened pull-a-longs without obstructing us at all. Certainly a very relaxing outlook and made for a well earned rest. Laundry was available and made use of at no extra charge, a nice touch. The breakfast was really nice and set us both up for a nice easy ride for that day We were not booked in for dinner but it was only a 300meters walk back towards the small town and the lovely Oturehua Pub

We were warmly welcomed into Marchburn on our Rail Trail adventure. The Lodge is just beautiful, the furnishings tasteful and cosy but most of all the hospitality of Graham and Donna made our stay just wonderful. Great conversation and attention to detail along with the best breakfast we experienced on the ride. We are hoping to return and would recommend Marchburn Country Lodge to al

We stayed at Marchburn Country Lodge one night while riding the Central Otago Rail Trail. We arrived wet and cold and were welcomed by Graeme and Donna into a very homely and warm living area. Our room was beautiful and had a spectacular vista of the mountains when we awoke the next morning. Graeme and Donna treated everyone like family and we can't rate them high enough for the service they provided
